Pakistan has made history at the 12th Special Olympics World Winter Games 2025, clinching four medals, including a gold in cross-country skiing.
Muneebur Rehman, from Swabi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, secured Pakistan’s first-ever gold medal in the men’s 50-metre cross-country skiing event, delivering a stellar performance on the international stage.
In the women’s 50-metre cross-country skiing event, Rubina Qurban showcased her exceptional skill, claiming a silver medal for Pakistan.
Adding to the country’s triumph, Saboor Ahmed and Ali Raza secured bronze medals in the 200-metre snowshoeing race, further boosting Pakistan’s medal tally.
Expressing his elation, gold medalist Muneebur Rehman shared that this was his first-ever participation in the World Winter Games, for which he had been training for the past seven years.
