Karachi, August 12, 2024 – Pakistani actress Nimra Khan has shared a frightening story about a kidnapping attempt she faced in Karachi’s Defense Housing Authority (DHA) neighborhood.
In a video on Instagram, Khan described the terrifying event that happened while she was waiting outside the Ramada Creek Club for her family. She said that three armed men approached her and tried to abduct her.
One of the attackers even pressed a loaded gun against her stomach. Despite her cries for help, no one, including the guards nearby, came to her aid. “I was standing there with my phone and bags when these men came and tried to kidnap me,” she said. “I screamed and shouted for help, but no one came.”
Khan was able to escape by running to a busy road where a passing car stopped to help. The family inside the car, along with the Ramada Creek Club staff, helped her get to safety.
In her emotional message, Khan expressed her frustration and fear. She said that even though she is a hardworking taxpayer, she still feels unsafe in her own country. “I am so tired of this false sense of patriotism when citizens can’t even feel safe in their own country,” she said.
