Pakistani security forces successfully thwarted multiple terrorist attacks in the Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed that 27 terrorists were killed in three separate gun battles, marking a significant victory against extremist elements.
The deadliest incident unfolded in the Daraban area, where terrorists, failing to breach a security post, resorted to a suicide attack by ramming an explosive-laden vehicle into the facility. The resulting explosion led to the collapse of the building, claiming the lives of 23 brave soldiers. In the ensuing gun battle, security forces eliminated all six terrorists involved.
In a parallel incident in the Kulachi area, two soldiers embraced martyrdom during an intense exchange of fire, but not before successfully neutralizing four terrorists.
The third engagement occurred in the Darazinda area, where an intelligence-based operation targeted a reported terrorist hideout. Security forces successfully dismantled the hideout, resulting in the death of 17 terrorists.
The ISPR released a statement highlighting the courage and determination of the security forces in their mission to eliminate terrorism from the country. The statement also acknowledged the sacrifices made by the brave soldiers, stating, “Security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country, and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve.”
The operations were part of ongoing sensitization efforts in the region to eliminate potential threats, and security forces remain vigilant in their commitment to securing the nation from extremist elements.
