Islamabad, Pakistan – Pakistan’s eCommerce exports have skyrocketed to $48.5 million following its inclusion in Amazon’s sellers list, as highlighted in the 9th National eCommerce Council (NeCC) meeting. Key achievements since the 2019 National eCommerce Policy approval include the SECP creating a specific eCommerce business registration category, raising freelancers’ monthly earning limits from $5,000 to $25,000, and introducing a B2B2C framework for international marketplaces. The SRO(14) scheme has enabled $66 million in small packet eCommerce exports, and the Pakistan Trade Portal has registered over 3,000 businesses.
Future plans include developing AI tools for online businesses, expanding international market access, revising the policy action matrix, and formalizing social commerce. Minister Jam Kamal Khan commended TDAP for the significant registration on the Pakistan Trade Portal and suggested linking it with other portals to enhance client facilitation.
