ISLAMABAD – 15 October 2025:
Pakistan’s passport has once again been ranked among the world’s weakest, dropping to 103rd place in the latest Henley Passport Index for 2025.
According to the global ranking, Pakistani citizens can now travel to only 33 destinations without a visa, placing the country near the bottom of the list — just ahead of a few conflict-affected nations.
The Henley Passport Index, which measures the world’s most and least powerful passports based on the number of countries their holders can enter without a prior visa, placed Singapore, Japan, and Germany at the top of the list this year.
Experts attribute Pakistan’s low ranking to limited bilateral agreements, security perceptions, and visa policy restrictions from Western and regional countries.
Travel industry professionals have urged the government to strengthen diplomatic ties and pursue reciprocal visa arrangements to improve global mobility for Pakistani citizens.
Despite the low ranking, the government maintains that efforts are underway to expand travel agreements and ease visa conditions with friendly nations.
