In a remarkable boost for the agricultural sector, Pakistan’s rice exports surged by 77.63% during the first quarter of the current fiscal year, generating a substantial $721.8 million compared to $406.4 million in the same period last year.
From July to September, the country exported an impressive 991,000 metric tons of rice, a significant increase from 596,000 tons in the previous year. This rise underscores Pakistan’s growing prominence in the global rice market, particularly in the premium segment.
Basmati rice, a staple of Pakistan’s agricultural exports, saw an impressive 65.78% increase, further solidifying the country’s reputation as a leading supplier of high-quality rice.
The surge in exports is attributed to various factors, including favorable weather conditions, improved production techniques, and a stronger international demand for Pakistani rice. This positive trend is expected to continue, positioning Pakistan as a key player in the global rice market.
As the country strives to enhance its agricultural exports, stakeholders are optimistic about the potential for further growth in the coming months.
