Islamabad, August 5, 2024 – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has unveiled plans to conduct expansive open trials for women’s cricket, aimed at identifying promising talent from all corners of the nation. This initiative underscores PCB’s dedication to fostering women’s cricket, even in remote regions.
Trial Phases and Locations
The trials will be conducted in two phases. The first phase is scheduled from August 5 to 7 in Gilgit, Hunza, and Sost, renowned for their scenic beauty and passionate cricket culture. In the event of rain, trials for these locations will be rescheduled to September 4-5.
The second phase will span from August 21 to September 3, with detailed registration instructions to follow soon. Former international cricketers Asad Shafiq and Batool Fatima, members of the national women’s selection committee, will oversee the trials nationwide.
Categories and Eligibility
Participants can compete in two categories: U-19 and Emerging. Eligible for the U-19 category are players born on or after September 1, 2005. Registrants must present filled-out forms, original/copy of birth certificates, B-forms, or CNIC at the trials. On-site registration is also available for convenience.
