Islamabad – The federal government has announced a slight reduction in petrol prices, bringing the new rate down by Rs. 0.5 per litre. With this minor adjustment, the new petrol price stands at Rs. 255.63 per litre.
The decision comes as part of the fortnightly review of fuel prices, influenced by fluctuations in global oil markets and local economic conditions. However, the minimal decrease has left consumers disappointed, as they were expecting a more significant relief amid rising inflation.
Meanwhile, the price of high-speed diesel remains unchanged. Experts suggest that future price adjustments will depend on international crude oil rates and the exchange rate of the Pakistani rupee against the US dollar.
This latest revision will be effective from March 1, 2025.
