Lahore, March 12, 2025 – A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight from Karachi to Lahore made a safe landing at Allama Iqbal International Airport despite missing one of its rear wheels.
According to sources, PIA flight PK-306 took off from Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, with all wheels intact. However, upon landing in Lahore, it was discovered that one of the aircraft’s rear wheels was missing. The pilot and crew ensured a smooth landing, preventing any major incident.
Following the discovery, Lahore’s Air Traffic Control (ATC) immediately informed Karachi airport authorities, who later found a part of the missing wheel’s shaft on the Karachi runway.
A Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) investigation is underway to determine whether the wheel detached during takeoff or mid-flight. A PIA spokesperson reassured the public that modern aircraft are designed to handle such situations, and passenger safety was never compromised.
The aircraft has been grounded for a detailed technical inspection, and aviation experts will conduct further inquiries into the cause of the missing wheel.
