In a bid to bolster bilateral ties, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has greenlit the relocation of Chinese industries to Pakistan, marking a significant leap in Sino-Pak economic cooperation. During a high-level meeting focused on the Board of Investment, Prime Minister Shehbaz reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to enhancing both local and foreign investments.
Following his recent visit to China, Prime Minister Shehbaz directed a comprehensive review of the Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) inked, emphasizing the imperative of expediting the establishment of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) with a streamlined ‘One Stop Shop’ approach.
Recognizing the immense potential in sectors such as textile, leather, and footwear, Prime Minister Shehbaz announced the establishment of a dedicated Business Facilitation Centre in Islamabad. Additionally, he revealed plans for an ‘Easy Business Act,’ aimed at further simplifying regulatory processes to attract foreign investment.
This initiative underscores Pakistan’s proactive stance in fostering a conducive environment for business and investment, solidifying its role as an attractive destination for international industries seeking expansion opportunities.
