Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the Ministry of Information Technology and related departments to expedite the transition to paperless operations in Federal Government offices, marking a significant push towards digital governance.
In a recent statement, the Prime Minister emphasized that any delays in implementing the e-office system across government offices would be unacceptable. He mandated that all office work, including file management, must be conducted through the e-office system within a month. He also stated his commitment to reviewing files exclusively through the e-office, underscoring the importance of this initiative.
Shehbaz Sharif highlighted that the adoption of e-office is among the government’s top priorities, aimed at enhancing transparency and improving the overall efficiency of the administrative system. He instructed all government officers to utilize the e-office system for processing and sending files.
To facilitate this transition, an e-office training session for the staff of the Prime Minister’s Office was completed last week. Demonstrating his support for the initiative, the Prime Minister personally began receiving files through the e-office system last week.
He further noted that the e-office system represents a significant stride toward the digitization of government operations and is crucial for improving governance in Pakistan. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has requested a progress report on the implementation of the e-office system within the next two weeks.
