Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Karachi on Monday to pay tribute to the Pakistan Navy for its significant contributions to the multinational military campaign Operation Bunyan Al Marsous.
The Prime Minister was received by senior naval officials upon his arrival at the Pakistan Navy Dockyard. During his visit, PM Shehbaz attended a high-profile ceremony organized to recognize the efforts of the Navy personnel who participated in the operation.
Operation Bunyan Al Marsous was a collaborative effort involving multiple nations to combat terrorism and ensure maritime security in the region. The Pakistan Navy played a pivotal role in the operation by providing critical logistical support, surveillance, and naval presence in key strategic areas.
Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Shehbaz praised the bravery and professionalism of the Navy, stating, “Pakistan is proud of its naval forces who stood shoulder to shoulder with our international partners to maintain peace and security in the region. Their courage and commitment reflect the true spirit of Pakistan’s armed forces.”
He also lauded the Navy’s continued efforts in safeguarding national waters and promoting regional stability, emphasizing that such contributions enhance Pakistan’s image on the global stage.
The ceremony was attended by Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, government officials, and representatives from allied countries. Medals and commendations were awarded to officers and sailors for their exceptional service during the operation.
PM Shehbaz’s visit underscores the government’s resolve to strengthen the capabilities of the armed forces and acknowledge their role in both national defense and international peacekeeping efforts.
