Islamabad, October 28, 2025 — Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has undertaken 34 foreign visits in the past 20 months, averaging nearly one trip every 30 days, according to official government records.
The extensive travel reflects the government’s focus on strengthening diplomatic and economic ties with key partners, including China, Saudi Arabia, the United States, and Gulf states. Most of the visits centered around trade, investment, and regional cooperation, with several resulting in bilateral agreements and financial support packages.
Government officials describe the visits as part of a broader effort to restore Pakistan’s international credibility and attract foreign investment amid ongoing economic challenges.
However, opposition parties have criticized the frequency of the trips, questioning their cost and tangible outcomes. The Prime Minister’s Office maintains that every visit served Pakistan’s “strategic, economic, and diplomatic interests.”
