Islamabad – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has granted financial assistance of Rs. 2.5 million to former footballer Mohammad Riaz, who was forced to sell jalebis to make ends meet after struggling with financial hardships.
Mohammad Riaz, once a promising footballer, gained national attention after his story went viral on social media, highlighting the dire conditions faced by many athletes in Pakistan. His plight moved authorities, prompting PM Shehbaz to extend financial support in recognition of his contributions to sports.
The Prime Minister’s Office confirmed the assistance, stating that Riaz will also be provided further support to help him rebuild his career and livelihood.
