Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday awarded Rs2.5 million to Mohibullah, an excavator operator, for his heroic rescue of a family stranded during a flood in Balochistan’s Qila Abdullah.
In a ceremony held at the Prime Minister’s House, the prime minister praised Mohibullah’s extraordinary bravery, lauding his selfless act of saving seven people trapped in a flood surge in the Kolk River in August.
“The entire nation, including myself, is proud of you. Your courage and love for humanity are deeply admirable,” stated Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. “You are a national hero who risked his own life to save others.”
In addition to the financial reward, the prime minister announced free education up to university level for Mohibullah’s children and assured free healthcare for his family.
Expressing his gratitude, Mohibullah said, “This is an honor for me to meet the prime minister of Pakistan. I never imagined that my act of rescuing a stranded family would gain such widespread recognition.”
Mohibullah thanked the prime minister for acknowledging his efforts and inviting him to the PM House, calling it an unforgettable moment in his life.
