Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with five-year-old Sufiyan Mehsood from Dera Ismail Khan, who recently set a Guinness World Record, on Saturday at the PM House. During the meeting, the Prime Minister praised Sufiyan for making Pakistan proud at such a young age and emphasized the importance of providing opportunities for youth to engage in sports and other positive activities.
Sufiyan, along with his father, Irfan Mehsood, both from Dera Ismail Khan, achieved the record for the fastest time to climb around a person, completing the feat in 7.87 seconds on June 19, 2024. The Prime Minister commended Sufiyan’s achievement, calling it a testament to the bright future of Pakistan’s youth. “Young talents like Sufiyan are the nation’s pride,” remarked PM Shehbaz Sharif.
During the conversation, Sufiyan expressed his ambition to make Pakistan’s name shine even brighter by becoming a scientist in the future. The Prime Minister, who conversed with Sufiyan in his native Pashto, also spoke with Irfan Mehsood, a Guinness World Record holder himself with over 100 records.
Irfan Mehsood, who runs a martial arts training academy in Dera Ismail Khan, received directives from the Prime Minister to collaborate with the PM Youth Program to promote sports nationwide. PM Shehbaz Sharif directed Rana Mashhood, Chairman of the PM Youth Program, and other relevant authorities to enhance sports facilities for young people across the country.
The meeting was attended by several ministers and officials, including Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Minister of State for Information Technology Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Chairman PM Youth Program Rana Mashhood, and PM’s Coordinator for Climate Change Rumina Khursheed Alam.
