The police have clarified that the recent incident involving actress Nimra Khan in Karachi’s Defence Phase 8 was not an attempted kidnapping, but rather a case of harassment.
Sub-Divisional Police Officer Manisha Ropeta said the investigation found only one person was involved in the incident, and he was on a motorcycle. She confirmed that this was a harassment case, not a kidnapping attempt. The police have arrested two suspects in other harassment cases recently.
Nimra Khan had initially reported an attempted abduction on Instagram. She described how, while waiting outside a hotel for her family, three armed men tried to pull her into their car. She fought back and escaped, with no help from hotel security.
CCTV footage showed Nimra waiting outside when the incident happened.
Ropeta assured the public that the police are actively working to find and arrest the suspect. “We have a route map for the suspect and expect to arrest him soon,” she said.
Nimra Khan expressed relief and thanked the police for their work. “I am glad nobody is after my life,” she said, hoping the police will bring the culprit to justice.
