Prince Rahim Al-Hussaini has been appointed the 50th hereditary Imam of the Shia Ismaili Muslims, succeeding his late father, Prince Karim Aga Khan IV. The announcement was made following the unsealing of the late Aga Khan’s will.
Prince Rahim, 53, has been actively involved in the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), focusing on education, health, and climate initiatives. His father, who led the Ismaili community for over 65 years, was known for his philanthropic work and global development efforts.
As Aga Khan V, Prince Rahim will continue to lead the Ismaili Muslim community and oversee AKDN’s humanitarian and development projects worldwide.
