The Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 will officially resume on May 17 after a temporary suspension due to rising cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan. The decision follows a surprise ceasefire agreement announced earlier this week, aimed at de-escalating military hostilities in the region.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed the new schedule, assuring fans that all remaining fixtures will proceed as planned under tight security protocols. The league was previously halted mid-season after escalating border tensions created safety concerns for players, staff, and spectators.
“The return of PSL is a symbol of peace and unity through sports,” said PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi. “We appreciate the cooperation of all franchises, international players, and security agencies in making this possible.”
The ceasefire, brokered by diplomatic channels with support from international mediators, has also raised hopes for the potential revival of bilateral cricket ties between India and Pakistan — a possibility that has long remained elusive.
Franchises have already resumed training camps, and international players who had returned to their home countries are expected back in Pakistan in the coming days.
PSL 10 will pick up from where it left off, starting with a high-voltage clash between Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
