Barrister Gohar, chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has stepped forward to clarify recent controversies surrounding tweets from Imran Khan’s official account. Addressing concerns raised earlier this week, Gohar emphasized that Imran Khan does not personally approve every piece of content shared from his account.
In an interview on Tuesday, Gohar initially expressed concerns about posts being published without approval. However, he later clarified that a recent tweet referencing 1971 was made in a political context and was unrelated to the military.
Gohar further elaborated via Twitter, affirming that while the account belongs to the party, Khan does not meticulously review each tweet. He explained the political context behind the 1971 reference, highlighting parallels to current political events.
Amidst public scrutiny, Imran Khan has penned a new article reflecting on the divisive state of Pakistan, underscoring the need for unity.
In a separate development, PTI chief has urged supporters to await further instructions before engaging in street agitation, signaling a strategic shift in the party’s approach.
Meanwhile, PTI has demanded a judicial commission to investigate the recent attack on Raoof Hassan, emphasizing the need for accountability and justice.
Gohar concluded by reiterating PTI’s stance, asserting their narrative and distancing themselves from comparisons to other political entities.
This clarification follows backlash over a tweet from Imran Khan’s account, which featured a video discussing the Hamood ur Rahman Commission Report and the roles of General Yahya Khan and Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the events of 1971.
