Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member of National Assembly (MNA) Iqbal Afridi has claimed that he was offered a staggering Rs400 million to support proposed constitutional amendments. In a video message released on Tuesday, Afridi alleged that the offer was even increased to Rs800 million and potentially up to Rs1 billion. However, he firmly rejected the proposal.
“I was offered Rs400 million to back the constitutional amendments. They were even willing to offer Rs800 million or more—up to Rs1 billion. But I took an oath during the elections to always speak the truth, and I swore allegiance to Imran Khan,” Afridi stated.
Afridi made it clear that no amount of money could sway his loyalty. “I dismiss their money and proposals. I am a soldier of Khan. I have supported Imran Khan’s ideology since 1997-98, standing by him through countless sacrifices for real change,” he asserted.
Reaffirming his allegiance to former prime minister Imran Khan, Afridi explained, “During the regime change, I withstood oppression, never fled, stayed silent, or sold out. Today, I still stand with Imran Khan and reject this offer.”
The PTI lawmaker concluded by saying he would continue to follow the party’s decisions regarding any constitutional amendments, remaining committed to the party’s ideology and leadership.
