In a recent development within Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), tensions escalate as senior leaders Asad Qaiser and Shibli Faraz engage in a heated exchange regarding the expulsion of Sher Afzal Marwat from PTI committees, as reported by Geo News.
During a meeting of the party’s political committee, Asad Qaiser voiced his dissent over Marwat’s expulsion, denouncing it as an act of “injustice”. However, Shibli Faraz questioned Qaiser’s authority to speak on party matters, prompting a sharp response from Qaiser, citing his longstanding association with Imran Khan dating back to 1995.
The confrontation intensified as Qaiser insisted on the unfair treatment meted out to Marwat, leading to pressure from other political committee members for Faraz to offer an apology.
On May 9, PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub Khan announced Marwat’s expulsion from both the core and political committees, citing public criticism directed at the PTI leadership as the reason behind the decision.
The verbal clash between Qaiser and Faraz underscores growing internal discord within PTI, raising concerns over the party’s unity and cohesion in the face of mounting challenges.
