Islamabad, December 4, 2024: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader, Sher Afzal Marwat, has hinted at the possibility of another large-scale protest in January 2025. During a press conference, Marwat expressed dissatisfaction with the current government’s policies and accused it of political victimization against PTI leaders and supporters.
“The government has ignored the voice of the people and continues to target opposition members unjustly,” Marwat stated. “We are prepared to take to the streets once again to demand justice and accountability.”
The announcement follows a series of political tensions and protests led by PTI following the removal of their leadership from key positions earlier in the year. Marwat further emphasized that the protest would be nationwide, with specific focus on the government’s economic mismanagement and its stance on political freedom.
Sources within PTI suggest that detailed plans for the protest will be unveiled in the coming weeks, with major cities across Pakistan expected to witness demonstrations. The planned protest is seen as an attempt by PTI to rally public support and challenge the government in the upcoming months.
The government has yet to officially comment on Marwat’s remarks, but security officials are reportedly reviewing measures to maintain public order should the protest take place.
