LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced financial assistance of Rs500,000 each for the victims injured in a shocking lion attack in Lahore’s Kahna area.
The incident occurred when a pet lion escaped from a private residence in a housing society and attacked two men on the street. Both victims sustained injuries and were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed deep concern over the incident and directed authorities to investigate how the wild animal was being kept in a residential area. She also emphasized strict enforcement of laws related to the ownership and handling of exotic animals.
“The safety of citizens is our top priority. Action will be taken against those responsible for this negligence,” she said in a statement.
Authorities have reportedly taken custody of the lion, and a case has been registered against its owner.
