Rawalpindi, September 28, 2023 – The Punjab Home Department has enforced Section 144 in the Rawalpindi Division in anticipation of a planned protest by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party. The restrictions, effective for two days from September 28 to 29, prohibit political gatherings, protests, and the display of weapons across the districts of Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, and Chakwal.
In response to concerns about potential unrest and reports of armed groups heading toward the area, six companies of Rangers will be deployed to ensure law and order. Authorities are urging residents to comply with the regulations to maintain peace during this critical period.
