In a bid to modernize the traditional process of purchasing sacrificial animals for Eid-ul-Azha, the Punjab government has unveiled an innovative online portal, as reported by Radio Pakistan.
The newly launched portal facilitates convenient browsing of available sacrificial animals, complete with detailed information such as pictures, age, weight, species, breed, and price. This digital initiative aims to streamline and simplify the process of acquiring sacrificial animals for the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha festivities.
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has also announced plans to integrate a QR code payment mechanism into the Raast Instant Payment System, enabling seamless transactions for purchasing sacrificial animals. This move aligns with the government’s efforts to harness modern technology for the convenience of the public during religious celebrations.
This development signifies a significant shift towards digitization in the traditional practices surrounding Eid-ul-Azha, marking a milestone in leveraging technology to enhance accessibility and efficiency in religious observances.
