Punjab’s Naseem Akhtar has accomplished an extraordinary feat by hand-stitching an entire manuscript of the Holy Quran, a project that spanned over 32 years of dedication and hard work.
In a previous interview, Naseem shared that her dream of creating an embroidered Quran took root before her marriage. However, limited resources at the time forced her to put her ambition on hold. It was only after her marriage in 1987 that she decided to turn her dream into reality.
To begin this monumental task, she ordered 12 pieces of fabric from Faisalabad, each measuring 45 inches wide and 25 yards long. Naseem then embarked on her journey, using 84 skeins of black and pink thread to meticulously stitch the Quran on the cloth. Each volume of her embroidered Quran measures 22 inches in length and 15 inches in width.
Naseem proudly revealed that every stitch of the manuscript was her own work, completed without any external assistance. She devoted herself to maintaining the utmost accuracy of the Arabic text, ensuring every word was flawless.
She completed the remarkable project in 2018, leaving behind a legacy of faith, patience, and artistic devotion. Her work stands as a testament to the power of perseverance and the depth of spiritual commitment.
