The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that the ongoing spell of monsoon rainfall will persist across the country until July 18, bringing moderate to heavy showers in various regions.
According to the Met Office, rain accompanied by thunderstorms is expected in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Sindh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir. The department has issued alerts for potential urban flooding in low-lying areas and landslides in hilly regions.
Authorities have advised the public to stay cautious, particularly in flood-prone zones, as heavy downpours may disrupt daily life and transportation. Farmers and travelers have also been urged to plan activities accordingly.
The PMD says the monsoon system is likely to weaken after July 18, but isolated rain spells may continue in some parts.
