Islamabad: The holy month of Ramzan 2025 is expected to begin in Pakistan on Sunday, March 2, as per astronomical calculations. The Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet on the evening of Saturday, March 1, to sight the Ramzan crescent.
According to experts, the new moon is expected to be visible in most parts of the country, making March 2 the first day of fasting for Muslims in Pakistan. However, the final decision will be made by the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee based on moon sighting reports from across the country.
Muslims in Pakistan and around the world observe Ramzan with fasting, prayers, and charity. The month holds special significance as it is believed to be the time when the Holy Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Authorities have urged citizens to prepare for the holy month, while markets and mosques are gearing up for special arrangements, including Taraweeh prayers and Sehri-Iftar deals.
For official confirmation, citizens are advised to follow announcements from Ruet-e-Hilal Committee and the Pakistan Meteorological Department on March 1.
