Rawalpindi: In a significant step toward sustainable urban transport, Rawalpindi is set to launch a new electric bus service. The initiative, aimed at reducing environmental pollution and enhancing public transportation, is expected to revolutionize the city’s commuting experience.
According to officials, the electric bus service will initially operate on key routes, including the busiest corridors in the city. The buses, equipped with modern features such as air-conditioning, low floors for accessibility, and advanced safety systems, promise a comfortable and eco-friendly alternative to traditional diesel-powered vehicles.
“This initiative aligns with our commitment to promoting green energy solutions and addressing the growing challenges of urban mobility,” said a spokesperson from the Punjab Transport Department. The service is expected to significantly reduce carbon emissions and noise pollution in the city.
