The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reported light drizzle in various areas of Karachi on Monday, including SITE, Jahangir Road, and DHA, with intermittent rain also observed in nearby localities. While this brief respite provided some cooling, the PMD has forecasted that hot and dry conditions will prevail over the next 24 hours.
The maximum temperature today is expected to range between 36 and 38 degrees Celsius, with northeast winds blowing at a speed of seven kilometers per hour. As of now, the temperature stands at 28 degrees Celsius, accompanied by a humidity level of 69%.
Karachi has been grappling with persistent heat, even as mid-October approaches, with recent temperatures reaching a scorching 40 degrees Celsius. Despite Sunday’s slight cooling, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 36.5 degrees Celsius with humidity at 42%, the city remains under the grip of high temperatures.
The Met Office anticipates that these weather patterns will continue for the next two to three days, urging citizens to take necessary precautions against the ongoing heat.
