Former Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora made waves at the 35th Barnstable Brown Kentucky Derby Eve Gala, not just with his electrifying performance, but also with his candid commentary on the recent Hulu documentary series, “Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story.”
In his first public appearance since the documentary’s release, Sambora didn’t hold back when he spoke to People Magazine about his take on the portrayal of the iconic band.
Expressing his discontent, Sambora remarked that the documentary seemed to disproportionately focus on Jon Bon Jovi, the band’s frontman, at the expense of other members. “It’s his project and it’s his perspective,” Sambora stated, before asserting, “I have a different perspective on all of that.”
During the discussion, Sambora also lamented the brevity of his performance at the gala, exclaiming, “Too f****** short!” He humorously noted that he only had 23 minutes on stage but proudly declared, “I blew the roof off the place.”
Despite the limited time, Sambora delivered a memorable set, treating the audience to renditions of his signature hits, “Wanted Dead or Alive” and “I’ll Be There for You.”
With his performance and candid remarks, Sambora once again demonstrated his enduring presence in the music scene, leaving fans eager for more insights into his storied career and his take on the legendary Bon Jovi legacy.
