A new aviation venture titled “Air Punjab” has entered the early stages of development, with promoters seeking Rs. 1 billion in funding to officially launch operations in Pakistan’s domestic aviation market.
According to preliminary proposals, the airline plans to operate as a low-cost regional carrier, connecting major cities within Punjab — including Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, and Bahawalpur — as well as select national destinations such as Karachi and Islamabad.
Industry insiders say the initiative aims to fill the gap in affordable domestic air travel, with a focus on improving connectivity for business travelers and intercity commuters. The management team is reportedly in talks with both private investors and public-sector institutions to secure initial capital for fleet acquisition and regulatory approvals.
If successful, Air Punjab could become Pakistan’s first provincial airline brand, potentially stimulating competition and investment in the country’s growing aviation sector.
