In a recent development in the Pakistani music industry, singer Sahir Ali Bagga has made serious allegations against fellow artist Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. Bagga alleges that Khan did not credit him as a creator for the song ‘Zaroori Tha’, a hit released back in 2014. Bagga stated that he has “pieces of evidence” suggesting that Khan has failed to give him credit in other instances as well.
Despite attempts by Images to reach out to Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and his team for a comment, there has been no response so far.
Taking to Facebook, Sahir Ali Bagga, while acknowledging Khan as “the best talent of Pakistan”, expressed his disappointment. Bagga, who has always aimed to promote Pakistani talent globally, claims that he was the creator of ‘Zaroori Tha’, a song that has now become “a historic song of the Pakistan music industry” with almost two billion views on YouTube.
Bagga emphasized that it is his right to be credited as the creator of the song. He demanded an explanation from Khan, whom he referred to as the “hero of the project”, as to why he was not given credit.
Referring to a now-deleted Instagram story where he called Khan a “hypocrite”, Bagga defended his stance. He stated that by calling someone a hypocrite, he was pointing out anyone who hides the truth and tries to deny someone their rights.
The ‘Mumkin To Nahi’ singer passionately requested to be given credit for the song, citing it as his “right”. He mentioned that his concern extends to junior artists who look up to him, expressing his desire for them not to “face problems in their struggle” for recognition.
This development has sparked discussions within the music industry and among fans, with many awaiting Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s response to these allegations.
