Saudi security forces have reportedly arrested Zahack Tanvir, an Indian blogger residing in Saudi Arabia, on charges deemed detrimental to the interests of the Saudi Kingdom. The news was initially reported by Free Press Kashmir on Wednesday.
Tanvir, known for his pro-Modi and pro-RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) views, is currently in custody. The specifics of his arrest and the exact charges against him are under investigation, and the Saudi authorities have not officially confirmed the arrest or disclosed the charges.
The Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia has not issued an official statement regarding Tanvir’s arrest at the time of reporting.
Zahack Tanvir, a Saudi-based Non-Resident Indian, serves as the director, founder, and editor of Milli Chronicle Media England, where he advocates for pro-Modi and pro-RSS viewpoints. Despite claiming to be a Muslim in his bio on X, he identifies as an “anti-Islamist.”
A video shared on X captured Tanvir criticizing protesters calling for a ceasefire in Gaza and an independent state of Palestine. In the same video, he asserted that teenagers in the West might join radical organizations more lethal than ISIS.
As the situation unfolds, many await official statements from both the Saudi authorities and the Indian Embassy to shed light on the reasons behind Tanvir’s arrest and the charges leveled against him.
