In a groundbreaking initiative aimed at revolutionizing energy access, the Sindh government has announced interest-free loans for middle-class families to install solar systems. This announcement was made by Sindh Energy Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah during a public address today.
Highlighting the initiative, Minister Shah underscored the government’s commitment to ensuring sustainable energy solutions and addressing regional challenges. The program targets to electrify 500,000 people annually, starting with the provision of basic solar systems to impoverished households.
Under the new policy, middle-class families can avail interest-free loans for independent solar installations, with the government covering the interest costs. This move is expected to empower citizens to adopt renewable energy sources while reducing dependency on conventional power grids.
Additionally, the government outlined plans to bolster the region’s energy infrastructure by constructing two grid stations per district, aimed at enhancing reliability and distribution efficiency.
Minister Shah concluded his address by extending heartfelt Eid greetings and calling for a moment of reflection to honor the sacrifices of martyrs.
This initiative marks a significant step towards sustainable development and economic empowerment in Sindh, setting a precedent for renewable energy adoption nationwide.
