Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has reiterated the Sindh government’s commitment to bolstering the automotive industry through supportive policies, aiming to enhance localisation and reduce import dependency. He emphasised the government’s focus on promoting small and medium vendor industries during his visit to the Indus Motor Company’s (IMC) manufacturing facility at the Port Qasim Authority.
During the visit, CM Shah highlighted the provincial government’s efforts to encourage large-scale production of hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), which he believes will create numerous direct and indirect employment opportunities within the province.
The Chief Minister toured IMC’s advanced manufacturing facility, where he received a detailed briefing on the latest production processes, including the globally acclaimed Toyota Production System. He was also informed about IMC’s recent achievements in exports, including the successful export of raw materials to Egypt, integrating the company into Toyota’s Global Supply Chain.
In addition, IMC has started exporting vehicles such as the Toyota Fortuner, Hilux, and Corolla Cross models to Oceanian countries. These accomplishments underscore IMC’s dedication to advancing Pakistan’s automotive industry on the global stage.
IMC Chief Executive Ali Asghar Jamali welcomed the Chief Minister’s visit, stating that stable policies are essential for sustained growth in the automotive sector. “It’s an honour to have Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah visit our plant, which serves as a significant morale boost for the entire team,” he added.
