The Sindh Police have successfully returned mobile phones to a Polish tourist couple who were robbed by armed men in Sujawal. According to SSP Sujawal, the recovered phones were handed over to the couple in Lahore.
The couple, Kowalczyk Jakuo Tomasz and his spouse Scantamburlo Mae Elisabeth, were robbed two weeks ago while traveling through Sujawal. The incident occurred near the Sujawal-Badin bypass as the couple, who were on a world tour, were visiting the Amli graveyard and traveling towards Hyderabad. During the robbery, the assailants snatched their mobile phones and Rs 72,000 in cash.
SSP Dr. Abdul Khaliq Pirzada confirmed that three suspects were apprehended within three days, and the stolen phones were recovered.
In a video message, the grateful Polish couple expressed their appreciation for the Sindh Police’s swift action and extended thanks to the people of Pakistan for their hospitality and support despite the unfortunate incident. The couple has visited 10 countries over the past seven months as part of their journey, which has taken them to countries including France, Italy, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, Russia, Turkey, Iraq, and Iran.
Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar had directed the police to take swift action against the culprits, leading to the prompt resolution of the case.
The couple, who had stayed at the Archaeology Guest House the night before the incident as guests of the provincial archaeology department, were heading towards India at the time of the robbery.
