Quetta, October 28, 2025 — A stunning lenticular cloud formation over Quetta has taken the internet by storm, with social media flooded by breathtaking photos and videos of the rare weather event.
The saucer-shaped cloud appeared over the city’s mountain range just before sunset, glowing in golden and pink hues as sunlight illuminated its smooth, layered structure. Many locals described it as a “UFO-like” object, sparking curiosity and awe among residents and netizens alike.
Experts from the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) explained that lenticular clouds form when moist air flows over mountains, cooling and condensing into lens-shaped patterns. Though common in some parts of the world, such formations are rarely seen in Pakistan, making the sight even more remarkable.
Social media users from across the country praised the natural spectacle, calling it one of the most beautiful atmospheric displays Quetta has witnessed in years.
