Peshawar, Pakistan – In a tragic incident that shook the community, a soldier was martyred, and three civilians were injured when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded on a vehicle of security forces in the general area of Warsak, Peshawar District, on Monday.
The brave soldier identified as Lance Naik Abdur Rehman, aged 29 and a resident of District Bannu, tragically embraced Shahadat (martyrdom) as a result of this cowardly terrorist act. Additionally, three other soldiers sustained injuries in the explosion. The blast also caused injuries to three innocent civilians who happened to be in the vicinity at the time of the incident.
In response to this heinous attack, security forces have initiated a comprehensive sanitization operation in the area to eliminate the terrorists responsible for this act and their facilitators. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) released a statement reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering determination to eradicate the menace of terrorism. They emphasized that the sacrifices made by the country’s brave soldiers and valiant civilian brethren only serve to strengthen their resolve in the fight against terrorism.
The incident has cast a pall of grief over the community, as the nation mourns the loss of another dedicated soldier who laid down his life in the line of duty. The injured civilians are receiving medical attention, and authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the IED explosion.
