At least one soldier was martyred during a brazen attack by terrorists on a security forces post near the Wali Tangi area of Quetta. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed the unfortunate event on Friday.
During the fierce exchange of fire that ensued, at least three terrorists were neutralized by the valiant security forces. The martyred soldier was identified as Subedar Qaiser Raheem, a dedicated defender of his country.
The ISPR also reported that another soldier sustained severe injuries in the attack, underscoring the perilous conditions faced by those protecting the nation.
This incident follows closely on the heels of a bomb attack that targeted Senior Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) leader Hafiz Hamdullah. Remarkably, Hamdullah emerged with non-lethal injuries, further highlighting the security challenges in Balochistan.
The explosive device detonated near Hamdullah’s vehicle in the Choto area, as he was en route to Mangochar via Mastung Road. Police sources disclosed that a total of 11 individuals, including Hamdullah, sustained injuries in the powerful explosion. They were swiftly transported to Mastung hospital, with Hamdullah later being shifted to Quetta for further medical attention.
This bomb attack comes just a day after the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) successfully eliminated a key Islamic State (IS) commander operating in Mastung district. The situation remains fluid, with security forces actively engaged in safeguarding the region against threats posed by terrorist elements.
The nation mourns the loss of Subedar Qaiser Raheem, saluting his unwavering commitment to defending Pakistan against those who seek to disrupt its peace and security. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the persistent challenges faced by security forces in the region and the need for continued vigilance against acts of terrorism.
