With Ramazan just a few days away, the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced a special gas supply schedule to facilitate households during Sehri and Iftar hours.
According to an official statement issued on Wednesday, gas will be available at the following times during the holy month:
- Sehri: 3:00 AM to 9:00 AM
- Iftar: 3:30 PM to 10:00 PM
“These timings have been worked out to provide convenience to our esteemed customers for food preparations for Sehri and Iftar,” the company stated.
However, the SSGC also cautioned that the country’s gas reserves continue to decline at an annual rate of 10%, which has widened the supply-demand gap. As a result, consumers may still face low pressure and shortages outside the designated hours.
Ramazan Moon Sighting Prediction
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) has issued a forecast regarding the sighting of the Ramazan crescent.
According to Suparco’s scientific analysis, the new moon is expected to be born on February 28 at 5:45 PM PST. The final confirmation regarding the sighting will be made by the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee based on physical observation and testimonies from across the country.
As anticipation for Ramazan 2025 builds, citizens are urged to plan accordingly, keeping in mind both gas availability and the expected moon sighting timeline.
