Islamabad – The Supreme Court of Pakistan has affirmed its earlier decision to remove Monal and several other restaurants from the Margalla Hills National Park, rejecting all appeals against the ruling.
In its judgment, the court denounced the review petitions as “disrespectful,” reiterating the critical need to enforce the removal as ordered. The decision underscores the court’s commitment to preserving the environmental sanctity and regulatory compliance of the national park.
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Islamabad Capital Territory Police have been directed to oversee the demolition and removal of these establishments, with a mandate to minimize any adverse effects on the park’s wildlife.
Additionally, the Wildlife Board will manage the restoration and repurposing of the site to ensure it is rehabilitated effectively.
This ruling reinforces the Supreme Court’s dedication to protecting Pakistan’s natural landscapes and adhering to environmental regulations.
