The embassy, which had halted in-country visa services in April 2023, has now reinstated its operations in Islamabad, allowing Pakistani applicants to once again submit their visa applications locally rather than traveling to regional hubs like Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur.
This move has been welcomed by travel agencies, students, business travelers, and families seeking reunification with loved ones in Sweden. The decision is expected to significantly reduce the financial and logistical burden previously faced by applicants.
Officials at the embassy have assured that all necessary security protocols have been put in place and that visa application appointments will be available through VFS Global in the coming weeks.
