Three terrorists met their demise in Quetta, as confirmed by a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Friday.
According to the ISPR, the terrorists launched an attack on a security forces’ post in the vicinity of Wali Tangi, Quetta, on Thursday evening. A fierce firefight ensued, ultimately resulting in the elimination of three terrorists. In the line of duty, one valiant soldier, Subedar Qaiser Raheem, was martyred, while another soldier sustained serious injuries.
The ISPR stated, “Security forces of Pakistan will continue to thwart the efforts of the enemies of peace and prosperity in the country.”
This incident serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing battle against terrorism that Pakistan faces. Last month, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir emphasized the crucial role Pakistan plays in combatting terrorism and urged the international community to acknowledge the immense sacrifices made by the country.
General Munir made these remarks during a meeting at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, where he engaged with a group of 38 students from Harvard University, representing nine different countries. During the session, the COAS discussed regional security issues and Pakistan Army’s contributions to promoting peace and stability in the region. He also highlighted Pakistan’s untapped potential, urging the participants to perceive the country based on their experiences during their stay.
Additionally, General Munir drew attention to the humanitarian crisis and atrocities in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), stressing the need for global awareness regarding the changing demographic realities in the region.
The ISPR reported that the students appreciated the COAS for facilitating a constructive interaction.
In early September, General Asim Munir underscored the importance of a robust economy in ensuring national defense capabilities, emphasizing that mutual cooperation is pivotal to Pakistan’s economic development. During a statement commemorating Defence and Martyrs’ Day, the army chief condemned those who sought to weaken the bond between the military and the people, affirming that Pakistan Army, as a national institution, thwarted such sinister attempts with patience and wisdom.
General Munir emphasized that unity and trust between the military and the people remain a great asset to the nation’s progress and security.
