ISLAMABAD: Popular social media platform TikTok has removed 25.4 million videos from Pakistan between April and June 2025, citing violations of community guidelines, the company said in its latest Community Guidelines Enforcement Report.
According to the report, Pakistan ranked among the top five countries for the highest volume of video removals globally, reflecting the platform’s ongoing efforts to maintain safe and responsible content practices.
The removed videos reportedly included content that violated TikTok’s policies on hate speech, misinformation, explicit material, and illegal activities. TikTok stated that a majority of the videos were taken down before receiving any views, highlighting its improved automated moderation system.
“TikTok remains committed to ensuring the safety and integrity of its global community,” the company said. “We continue to invest in technology and human moderation teams to identify and remove harmful or non-compliant content swiftly.”
In addition to removals, TikTok also suspended thousands of user accounts involved in repeat violations and misinformation campaigns. The company emphasized that its enforcement process aims to balance creative freedom with user safety, especially in regions with large youth audiences like Pakistan.
Pakistan has consistently been one of the top countries for content moderation activity on TikTok, with millions of local users generating daily uploads. Officials and digital experts have commended the platform’s growing responsiveness but continue to call for greater transparency and stronger safeguards against harmful trends.
