Devastating flash floods swept through the scenic region of Babusar in northern Pakistan, destroying two mosques and causing significant damage to nearby infrastructure. The incident occurred following continuous heavy rainfall that triggered landslides and overflowed streams in the mountainous area.
According to local authorities and eyewitnesses, the floods struck suddenly, washing away the mosques along with parts of nearby roads and homes. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far as the mosques were unoccupied at the time of the flooding.
Residents of the area expressed deep sorrow over the destruction of the mosques, which held great religious and cultural significance for the local community. Efforts are underway to assess the full extent of the damage, while emergency teams have been dispatched to provide relief to affected families.
The disaster highlights the growing vulnerability of northern Pakistan’s highland regions to extreme weather events during the monsoon season. Officials have urged travelers and locals to remain cautious as further rainfall is expected in the coming days.
