Maulana Bashir Farooqui Qadri, the esteemed founder and chairman of Saylani Welfare International Trust, has been awarded the Soft Diplomacy Award by the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This prestigious accolade celebrates Maulana Farooqui’s exemplary efforts in fostering and enhancing the relationship between the UAE and Pakistan.
The award was conferred during a special ceremony marking Pakistan’s Independence Day, held at the UAE Consulate General in Karachi. UAE Consul General Bakheet Ateeq Al-Rumaithi praised the enduring and robust ties between the two nations, which have spanned over six decades. In his address, Al-Rumaithi highlighted the invaluable contributions of Pakistanis to the UAE’s development and reaffirmed the strength of the friendship between the two countries. The ceremony also featured a poignant message from the UAE’s Minister for Interfaith Harmony, further underscoring the shared values and collaborative spirit between the UAE and Pakistan.
In addition to Maulana Farooqui’s recognition, the event honored various individuals from diverse sectors including health, education, sports, journalism, climate change, aviation, and culture, who were awarded certificates of appreciation for their notable contributions.
During his acceptance speech, Maulana Farooqui revealed that the Saylani Trust is embarking on an ambitious project to produce 10 million skilled graduates, aiming to generate $1 billion annually and address Pakistan’s economic challenges. This announcement was made at the groundbreaking ceremony of the Saylani School of Emerging Sciences and Skills Education in Naya Nazimabad. The school is set to offer advanced training in IT and various technical fields, preparing graduates for the global market.
Maulana Farooqui also highlighted the significant impact of the Saylani Trust’s mass IT training program, which has trained hundreds of thousands of individuals, many of whom are now contributing to Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves through freelancing and earning in dollars.
