In an unusual turn of weather events, Mansehra and Kaghan Valley have been blanketed in snowfall this April, much to the delight of nature enthusiasts. This unexpected snowfall serves as another stark reminder of the shifting climate patterns attributed to climate change.
The picturesque landscapes of Mansehra and Kaghan Valley have drawn in tourists eager to witness the beauty of the snow-clad mountains. The region has transformed into a captivating winter wonderland, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in its charm.
However, neighboring areas like Abbottabad, Nathiagali, Dongagali, Thandiani, and Ayubiya have experienced heavy rainfall, prompting authorities to caution against travel to these regions due to safety concerns.
Further north, in the Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) region, landslides have been reported in several areas, including Simeri, Jora, Dourian, Doodhniyal, and Sheikh Baila. The Neelum Road, a key transportation route, has been temporarily closed at five different spots due to landslides, posing risks to travelers.
Local authorities are actively engaged in clearing the road and ensuring the safety of commuters. Until further notice, travelers are advised to refrain from using the Neelum Road and to exercise caution while exploring regions affected by heavy rainfall and landslides.
As climate change continues to influence weather patterns, these contrasting conditions highlight the importance of adapting to evolving environmental challenges and prioritizing safety in travel decisions.
