Vin Diesel has revealed that Fast X: Part 2, the penultimate installment in the Fast & Furious franchise, will be filmed in Los Angeles, marking a nostalgic return to the city where the series began in 2001.
Diesel made the announcement on Instagram, crediting his co-star Jordana Brewster for inspiring the decision. “Last week, during the fires that displaced LA… my sister Jordana reached out to me and said… Please have Universal film the rest of Fast X: Part 2 in LA,” Diesel wrote alongside a heartfelt photo of the duo. “Los Angeles needs it now more than ever.”
The return to Los Angeles holds special significance for the franchise, as it served as the iconic backdrop for the original film. “Los Angeles is where Fast & Furious began filming 25 years ago… and now Fast will finally return home. All love,” Diesel shared.
The franchise’s highly anticipated finale has been years in the making. In 2024, Diesel teased a March 2026 release, hinting at the possibility of the conclusion being split into two parts. Speaking about the final chapter, Diesel emphasized a return to the series’ essence: “I just want to get back to real street racing, practical stunts… and a reunion of that beautiful brotherhood.”
As the saga approaches its conclusion, Diesel expressed gratitude to fans for their unwavering support, calling the finale “a celebration of the incredible family we’ve built together.”
With its return to Los Angeles, Fast X: Part 2 promises to honor both the franchise’s legacy and the city’s resilience, blending heartfelt nostalgia with an exciting new chapter. Fans eagerly await the film, which is set to capture the spirit of where it all began.
